Week Reflection 6.08.10
What???
This week we have been split into our whanau classes, made comics on a problem a child could face, researched a countries culture of our choice, we are starting our visualising reading strategy and have learnt a bit about our language choices.
So What???
Learning to visualise will help me become an effective learner because it gives me an extra reading strategy to add to my arsenal.
Next What???
My goal for next week is to stay on task.

Guess What???
This week my goal was to work with someone I don’t usually work with. I have achieved my goal.
What???
This week we have done drama with Ms Strawbridge, The Punjabi 3 won the 3vs3 basketball tournament, and we have made posters with Mr Withers.
So What???
Playing basketball will help be an effective learner because it encourages teamwork.
Next What???
My goal for next week is to remember to finish unfinished work.

This week we have done drama with Ms Strawbridge, a mini ball competition, learnt how to use Umajin we started our new reading and math programs, peer tutoring, our inquiry work, and math tests.
So What???
Starting new programs for reading and maths will help me understand different aspects of those subjects.

My goal for next week is to work with someone I usually don’t work with.

My goal is to find new strategies for uncommon math problems with four digits sums. I haven’t had any opportunities to do this at school.
What???
This week we have been swimming, voice recorded messages about what an elephant is thinking, and we have played Indian Tag with Rm1, have made a clip about why play is important with our buddy class, and have booked in sessions with Ms Gorrie.
So What???
Having sessions with Ms Gorrie will help me become an effective learner because it will help me identify my areas where I have to improve.
Now What???
I will carry on with my goal from this week.

This week we have done work in our writing anthology, our guided reading and math sessions, made power points on our social goals and beat room 18 in a game of Indian Tag.

Making a PowerPoint about my social goal will help reflect on them and let me see where I’m at.

My goal this week was to listen to instructions more carefully.
I think I have succeeded in my goal this week.
What??
This week we have done a huge variety of activities from going on a tramp to eating cold porridge to making cool music on audacity!!!
So What??
I have learnt how to receive feedback so I can work on my mistakes and make them better.
Next What??
My goal next week is to pair up and work with someone I don’t usually work with.

Writing Sample- Cell Phones at School?
Most schools have a "no cellphone" rule, but why? having a cellphone at school would adhance a childs learning.
Cellphones have a handful of useful applications. Having a to-do list will notify you when you have an important meeting, work that need to be finished and when there due, if theres homework to do and if theres someone you need to talk to, it will remind you. and for teachers they wont have to remind everyone! phones that have document creators such as Word and Powerpoint could be used to publish work. You can search the internet for everything and anything at any time. Taking photos and videos can be instantly tranfered to a computer. s clearly there are a lot of uses availableon a cellphone.

GUESS WHAT.
My goal was to be able to finish the required amount of laps in fitness without stopping.
I tried my best and took 2 breaks within 6 laps.
WHAT.
This week i learnt how to use microsoft work space.
SO WHAT.
Next time i will try and go a little slower than gradually build up. This is where you reflect on something that you have learnt and how this has made you become a more effective learner.
NOW WHAT.
My next goal is to use more self-control and not to talk as much in technology.
